About Tanya
Tanya Barbee is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working within Mental Health Services and Education. Tanya jumped started her career within an emergency room at a local hospital assessing, evaluating, counseling and treating severely mentally ill patients with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders in crisis requiring stabilization, hospitalization, intensive outpatient mental health services, substance abuse treatment and/or support. Tanya played a major role within this setting and she served as a resource to other professionals while collaborating and consulting with a team of Psychiatrists, Doctors, Nurses, Patient Care Advocates and families. She strived to ensure that each patient felt safe and supported and received the appropriate resources for treatment.
Tanya Barbee is now the sole proprietor of Essence of Mine Counseling, LLC. Prior to venturing out on her own, she gained experience and a wealth of knowledge working alongside other therapists and professionals as an independent contractor with a local private practice. She has an array of experience working with children, adults and couples, and these experiences have provided her with the skill, training and knowledge required to serve in private practice. Tanya specializes in trauma and anxiety and her goal is to help her clients reach their optimal level of living and wellness, build self-reliance and gain coping skills, while fostering and supporting her clients as they Review, Revitalize and Recreate.

Essence of Mine Counseling provides effective outpatient individualized psychological service where every client is treated with care and compassion. This is accomplished by providing all clients with a safe place to unpack and by customizing a unique treatment plan for each individual client.

Essence of Mine Counseling is in-network for Aetna, Cigna and Evernorth and will provide insurance invoices for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider for out-of-network clients. Please contact us for rates and for more information related to reimbursement. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are accepted.
Essence of Mine Counseling offers HIPAA compliant Telehealth therapy.
Midnight therapy sessions are also available.
